Privacy Policy

Welcome to DanceOutYourWoMan. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy describes how we (the content provider) collect, use, store, and share personal information in connection with our website and online courses (meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, light physical practices), which are delivered via Podia.com (the “Platform”).

1. Data Controller / Contact Details

Data Controller: DanceOutYourWoMan
Address: Iwona Gilarska / Kirchhainer Damm 90B, 12309, Berlin
Email (for privacy contact): danceoutyourwoman@gmail.com

As required under EU data protection law (GDPR), you can contact us at the email above with any data-privacy questions or requests.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect and process the following personal data from you, only when you provide it voluntarily (for example, by signing up for our newsletter or purchasing a course):

  • Email address — when you sign up for the newsletter or create an account / purchase a course.

  • Name (first and last name) — if provided during registration or purchase (optional, only if needed).

We do not collect or store payment information ourselves. All payment handling (card info etc.) is managed by third-party services (see section 4).

We do not collect sensitive health data.

We also rely on the Platform and its third-party providers to automatically collect certain technical data (such as IP address, device/browser information, usage data, cookies) for Platform operation, security, and analytics — but this is handled by Podia, not by us.

3. Purpose & Legal Basis for Processing

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • To provide access to courses you purchase (contractual necessity).

  • To send you newsletters, updates, and communications — only if you have given your explicit consent (e.g., via double opt-in for the newsletter).

  • To respond to your questions or support requests.

  • To comply with legal obligations (e.g., accounting / tax law).

Because we are based in Germany and you might be in the EU, processing is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Therefore we rely on either (a) your consent (for newsletters) or (b) contract performance / legitimate interest (for delivering purchased content and minimal data processing required thereof). 4. Third-Party Services & Data Processors

We use the following third-party services:

  • The Platform (Podia) — for hosting the content, managing user accounts, course access, etc.

  • Payment processors (e.g., Stripe and PayPal) — to securely process payments. We do not handle or store payment card data ourselves.

  • Email service provider & newsletter management (via Podia or integrated mailing tools) — to send newsletters/updates, only if you have subscribed.

Your email address (and name, if provided) may be shared with these providers — but only as needed to fulfill the services (course access, payments, newsletters).

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your personal data (email, name) only as long as:

  • you use our services (account exists, course access active), or

  • you are subscribed to the newsletter.

If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, or request deletion of your account/data, we will delete your personal data unless we must retain it to comply with legal obligations (e.g., accounting) — in which case only the minimum required data will be kept.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & Global Users)

Because we are based in Germany / EU, you have the following rights under GDPR (if you are an EU resident). If you are outside the EU, we still aim to respect similar rights:

  • Right to access the personal data we hold about you

  • Right to correction / update of the data

  • Right to deletion (“right to be forgotten”), unless legal obligations prevent it

  • Right to withdraw consent at any time (e.g., stop receiving newsletters)

  • Right to object to processing, or restrict processing

  • Right to data portability (request a machine-readable copy)

To exercise these rights, you can contact us at the email address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (in Germany: the Bundesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit, BfDI).

7. Cookies & Tracking

Because the Platform (Podia) handles cookies, tracking, and analytics, please refer to Podia’s cookie / tracking disclosures. We do not assign additional cookies beyond what Podia uses.

If you prefer, you can disable cookies in your browser; note that this may limit access to some features.

8. International Data Transfers

Because Podia and potentially its third-party providers operate globally, your data may be transferred outside the EU (e.g., to the US). In such cases, we rely on GDPR-compliant safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure your data remains protected.

9. Children’s Data

We do not target or knowingly collect data from minors under 16. If you are under 16, please do not sign up. If we discover we have collected data from a minor under 16, we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (e.g., if our services change, or to comply with new legal requirements). We will note the “Last updated” date at the top when changes are made. Your continued use of our services after the date means you accept the updated policy.

Consent & Newsletter Sign-up

By subscribing to our newsletter, you explicitly consent to us storing your email address and name (if provided) and using it to send you periodic newsletters, course updates, and other communications. You may withdraw consent at any time (e.g., by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email, or contacting us directly).

We implement a double opt-in procedure for newsletter subscription to ensure compliance with GDPR consent requirements.

Notes

  • We do not collect or store any health-related data (e.g., medical history, physiological data) from you.

  • We are not liable for any health effects or consequences of applying the wellness / breathwork / meditation practices you access — see our separate Wellness Disclaimer (linked).

  • Payment data is processed entirely by third-party processors (Stripe, PayPal) and we never see or store your card data.

If you have any questions or want to request access, correction, deletion, or data export — just contact us at danceoutyourwoman@gmail.com.
